Founded in 1829 as the first community hospital in the Carolinas, Roper Hospital is recognized for its leading-edge technology, best practices, and a long legacy of excellence. Roper Hospital is a 382-bed facility complete with an emergency room, heart and vascular center, and rehabilitation services.

Recently, our team installed a 2 megawatt generator with a 4000-amp genset gear tied into the existing paralleling gear in the generator building. To avoid possible damage from hurricane flooding, the generator had to be lifted three floors.

This project required extensive coordination in detailing and organizing the existing genset outages while bringing the new ATS units online without disconnecting power and interrupting the hospital's daily activities. Our team provided design services over the course of the project, helping the Engineer of Record modify the design to best situate the equipment into the cramped, rooftop chiller area as well as fitting our new gear into the existing genset paralleling room.

Our team also provided fire water infrastructure upgrades for their 1,000 square foot Fire Pump Building which included a new fire pump for the hospital.
