Focused on creating sustainable wood products used in residential, commercial, and industrial applications, Weyerhaeuser’s purpose is clear — to grow trees and make forest products that fundamentally improve lives. And in Grayling, MI, their facility does just that through the creation of Oriented Strand Boards (OSB).

A building material often used in housing construction, OSB is sustainable, durable, and gaining popularity industry-wide. FZ came onboard to transfer an enormous central press that manufactures OSB at Weyerhaeuser’s Grayling facility.

For months leading up to the transfer, our team prepared the facility for a major shutdown. During the three month closure the entire 120’ x 50’ central press was disassembled, transferred, and reassembled. Our work included installing the cable trays, pulling cable, and building a Motor Control Center Room.
