Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC) Western Michigan chapter has named Jeff Hoeks a 2022 West Michigan Craft Professional of the Year finalist. The award represents trade professionals who demonstrate a passion for their craft, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to professional excellence. Jeff is a Journeyman Electrician and Field Operations Manager at Feyen Zylstra, an Electrical and Industrial Technology Firm.
With over 40 years of trade experience, Jeff applies his varied background to his role as the West Michigan Field Operations Manager. Serving as the conduit between the field and office, Jeff provides a voice and feedback loop to each while helping connect his team with the resources and support they need to be successful.
"Jeff is a mentor. That is the best word I could use to describe him. In the field and in the office, he is known for his work ethic, dedication to quality, and his humility. It's actually quite funny that of everyone at FZ, he is the last person who would seek out this honor, but really that is what makes him so deserving," says Derek Hunderman, Director of Sales and Operations at Feyen Zylstra.
"As a former Marine, Jeff is regimented in his process and constantly strives for perfection while also prioritizing the growth and success of others. He constantly puts his team first and is never one to self-promote. I can think of no one better suited for this award," says Neal Kooiman, Senior Field Operations Manager at Feyen Zylstra.
The West Michigan 2022 Craft Professional of the Year Finalist award winner will be announced live at the Excellence in Construction Awards on Thursday, September 15, at the GLC Live at 20 Monroe. The other 2022 Craft Professional of the Year Finalists are Tom Walder from Lakewood Construction and Blane Lester from Kent Companies.
