How do you measure, measure a year?
It's a catchy tune that ponders a deep question. A question that seems to pop up about this time every year. How do we measure the worth, actions, challenges, and success of a year? While cups of coffee seem like a good start, we looked around FZ to see how we could measure all that we've accomplished in the last year.
Here are our favorite statistics that represent what our FZers got up to in this last year!
1. 1,201 Hours Spent on In-House Leadership Training for Frontline Leaders
Training and equipping FZers with the skills and knowledge they need to be successful is incredibly important to us. For this reason, we've developed in-house leadership training for front-line, first-time field supervisors. The training equips them with real-world leadership skills and best practices.
2. Over 60% of our Field is OSHA 10-Hour Certified
Continued safety training is the cornerstone of a strong safety culture. For this reason, we're committed to OSHA 10-hour training which covers how to spot, avoid, and report common safety and health risks that our FZers encounter every day. Our goal is to have over 80% of our field be OSHA 10-hour certified in 2024.
3. 97 Apprentices Employed and Trained
We believe in electrical trade careers - the opportunities they provide and the fulfillment that they offer. That's why we're passionate about developing the next generation of Electrical Tradespersons. With nearly 100 apprentices learning on our job sites and being mentored by our leaders, we're honored to be a part of each of their journeys. Learn more about FZ's Apprenticeship Program.
4. 40+ IR Thermography Reports Completed
Did you know that FZ offers IR Thermography reports? An IR report detects abnormal heat patterns in equipment that are often indicative of defects or inefficiencies. When corrected, the equipment's lifespan can be prolonged and productivity improved.
5. $27,300 in Safety Coupons Redeemed for PPE and Tools
Safety Coupons are given out to FZers who attend daily safety huddles and consistently exhibit safe work practices. These coupons can be redeemed for clothing, work boots, safety glasses, safety items, and tools. In 2023, we handed out over 2,680 with over 1,700 safety coupons redeemed!
6. 1,000+ National Night Out Attendees
Every year, FZ hosts the City of Walker's Annual National Night Out at our headquarters in Grand Rapids, MI. This community-building event centers on promoting healthy police-neighborhood relationships and camaraderie.
7. 4,119 FZimpact Hours Used to Date
Created in 2016, FZimpact is our employee-driven community impact program that provides FZers access to eight hours of paid time on an annual basis to impact the communities where they live and work. This year, FZers used their time volunteering at road clean-ups, homeless shelters, cancer research events, orphanages, and more.
